Fauna and flora of Africa
Mammals, birds, reptiles and the continent’s flora.
Many rare animal species in Africa
In Africa, there are quite different weather conditions, which can also be humid and wet. It is important to have good equipment with you. The flora and fauna in Africa are very rich in animal species and plants that you can admire. The animals adapt to the temperatures in the respective regions. Examples include the African elephants or the giraffes.
When you are on a safari tour, the animals come very close to the car and you can get a nice insight into the animal world. Special birds are native to Africa, with the fish eagle or the scarlet bee-eater being among the most notable species. The birds are usually observed at watering holes. Mammals such as the baboons can also be found in the diverse fauna of the African states. However, there are also many species of insectivores that attract attention in the fascinating animal world. Especially in the Kruger National Park, various animal species can be admired, which have a very rare and colorful appearance.
Mammals and reptiles in the African flora
There are many mammals and even more reptiles that can be spotted in the African flora. These include the buffalo or wildebeest, which have settled in the African steppes. The buffaloes are large animals that are fierce and live in herds. Africa is generally a country with a rich flora. There are more than 2000 species of plants and the vegetation zones are very pronounced. The flowers of the plants are very colorful and magnificently designed. There is a small proportion of forests in Africa, as the country's surface is very flat.
Agricultural use of plantations
However, many plantations are counted, which are used by farmers. Eucalyptus and pine trees were imported and thrive very well in climate change. The largest part of Africa is covered with grassland. Steppes are also included, which contain low shrubs, bushes or grasses. Hardwoods can also be found again in the rich flora of Africa. Certain species of hardwoods are protected by law and severe penalties are imposed if they are to be cleared. The African fauna also includes national parks and nature reserves, which are home to a variety of animals. Several hundred species of reptiles as well as mammals and birds are part of the wildlife. Most animal species recorded in Africa are now largely extinct. Butterflies are also disappearing from the fauna over time. Many native animals are threatened with extinction and are subject to the nature conservation law. The fauna and flora in Africa should be preserved.
