The Lifestyle of the Nubians

The Nubians are a people of Nilotic-Saharan language who are strongly mixed with Arab and Black African ethnic groups.

The Nubians, who live in the Nile valleys, nowadays mainly earn their living from tourism. The children and women sell handmade crafts, jewelry, and souvenirs. The men earn their livelihood by fishing, renting out boats or camels, as the villages are often only accessible with great difficulty by water or on long routes through the hot desert. The men also offer their services as tour guides.
