Mythology and Rule

The Henmemet were subjects of the Pharaoh in Egypt. They served the king and were also his closest confidants. The Henmemet were also designated to escort Horus, who played an important role in mythology. They stood at the top of the social hierarchy and were regarded as demigods, receiving great respect and veneration. The earthly life ended with the king's ascent to heaven, and the Henmemet followed him.
