Origin

Others live in Ghana, Burkina Faso and Ivory Coast and very few are based in Sudan, Cameroon and Mauritania. The population of the Fulbe is estimated at around 7 million people. To this day, there are only assumptions and theories about the origin of the Fulani, which have never really been proven.

Way of life

The way of life of the people is strictly and traditionally guided by a code. This code includes the entire attitude to life of the Fulani and anyone who does not adhere to it is expelled from the community. The highest good in Fulani culture is the cow. That is why a Fulani's herd is his most valuable possession. He nurtures and cares for his animals and even weeps when one of them dies. The milk of the cows is considered by the Fulani to be a divine gift that confers invulnerability.

The traditional clothing of the Fulani consists of extremely colorful, flowing garments. The women wear henna designs on their faces and the men wear a type of turban with a face veil, which strongly resembles the headgear of the Tuareg.
