East Africa
The East African region can be considered the cradle of humankind. Many finds relating to human evolution have been preserved here.
Languages of East Africa
Over 200 different ethnic groups with four language families and major cultural and social differences exist in East Africa. This harbors a high potential for conflict, which is evident in many past and current wars and civil wars. Thus, in East Africa, you can find the Afro-African population, the Nilo-Saharan peoples, and also the inhabitants originating from Niger and Congo.
Lifestyle
The peoples of East Africa are found either in very fertile areas, but also in the Sahara and the East African cultural space. The exact settlement of the areas cannot yet be precisely traced.
In rural areas of East Africa, you can find the most diverse forms of housing. From simple windbreaks and huts to modern stone houses. Wealthy residents of densely populated areas replace their huts with modern and comfortable new houses.
