Sights in Cape Verde
Cape Verde’s islands offer many great opportunities for beach and sun holidays. Popular beaches include those on the islands of Boa Vista Praia do Estoril, Maio, Santiago or Sal. In addition, the coasts off the islands are considered a diver’s paradise due to the many shipwrecks in the Atlantic. Apart from the Atlantic coast, most of Cape Verde’s islands are also very mountainous, attracting many hiking holidaymakers. For example, the island of Santo Antão has particularly many hiking trails. However, one of Cape Verde’s main attractions is the crater of the Pico do Fogo volcano, which last erupted in 1995.
In addition to the landscape, Cape Verde’s islands also boast many historical and cultural sights. These include, for example, the presidential palace, the ruins of the cathedral or Praia’s Praça da República.
